Persol Celebrates Steve Mcqueen


1968: The Original Persol  714 makes its international debut appearance on the film set of  "The Thomas Crown Affair" .


Steve Mcqueen shared his love for Persol eyewear by arriving on set with the unmistakable 714's only to elevate the already iconic actor and luxury eyewear brand to legendary status.


The new model differs somewhat from the original style but still maintains the classic and timeless appeal that is Persol :

  • The return of the blue lens - the favourtite of Steve Mcqueen
  • Folding closure at the back of the temple arm are no longer top to bottom but from outside to inside.
  • The Supreme Arrow Persol distinctive is the functional element enclosing the hinges. Here it is mounted both on the temple arm and front of the frame - as in the classic model - as well as on the folding hinges and middle of the temple arm, with a total of four arrows. This design choice clearly accentuates the identity of a model that is already iconic.
  • Steve Mcqueen  Signature emblazons the inside of the temple arm as well as the elegant leather case.
